The Comfiest Prison
This is where I'll be spending my time for the foreseeable future. It looks nice, but it's already feeling like a prison with a statewide lockdown starting tomorrow at 11:59 PM. This isn't a very artistic picture, but it's the best angle I can get that doesn't have most of the house obscured by trees. Those windows on the second floor are into my room, and they've been a big silver lining of this whole fiasco. The ones in the top left face east, so I get to see the sunrise every morning that it isn't cloudy. I also get to see the birds loitering around in the trees above the feeder hanging from the deck below. I'm hoping to post at least one good picture of every species of bird I see outside my window to this blog, especially chickadees since that's what this blog is named after (a flock of chickadees is called a banditry). Despite being upset about my senior year being upended, I want some good to come of it and hopefully part of that will be this blog.
It's been difficult to maintain focus, and days often melt into one another, but I'm getting by. I've overslept on multiple occasions due to not being to fall asleep at night, which is probably a symptom of not really being active or getting outside for days on end. I'm hoping the weather warms up and the ice comes off Fairy Lake pretty soon so I can start kayaking again. Not seeing my friends has taken its toll, but I've been keeping in contact through Snapchat, and we're trying to do a group video call at least once a week, which is nice. One other thing I've missed is seeing people I don't really keep in contact with outside of school. Passing conversations with acquaintances were a bright part of my school days, but now with online classes they don't really happen anymore. I'm hoping to find a good RPG to get lost in and take my mind off the stress of this whole situation along with this blog. Hopefully many more photos and updates are to come!
